Preschool Details: Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program that helps children from low-income families develop the early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. The program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 3 through 5. Early Head Start is a community-based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women. The program promotes healthy prenatal outcomes, enhances child development, and promotes healthy family functioning. Families involved with Early Head Start are offered services until their child enters Head Start.
Eligible Requirements: Head Start: Child between the ages of 3-5; Household income at or below 130% of Federal Poverty Level; Child is in foster care; Family is receiving TANF, SSI, or is homeless; Early Head Start: Pregnant or a child under 3 years of age; Household income at or below 130% of Federal Poverty Level; Child is in foster care; Family is receiving TANF, SSI, or is homeless.
