How We Review Listings
Two publication states
- Published. A record that has been through the research review (checked against the program's or grantee's own public information and given a description where one was available). Published listings are included in the site map and may be indexed by search engines.
- Pending review. A record loaded from the public center export that has not yet had that review. Pending listings are still shown, because the basic facts may help a family find a program, but each page asks search engines not to index it and is labelled accordingly.
Records that were submitted but rejected, or that were found to be duplicates or spam, are not shown to visitors.
What review does and does not do
Review confirms that a program appears to exist at the stated address and that the compiled fields match the program's public information at the time of review. It does not confirm that a program is currently enrolling, has open seats, or is free for a particular family; only the program can say that. Review is done by a person, not by an automated feed, and there is no fixed re-review schedule.
Visitor contributions
- New programs and listing updates submitted through the site are held for moderation and are only published after a person checks them.
- Comments, questions and answers are held for moderation before they appear on a listing. Offensive language is masked. Email addresses given with a submission are never published.
- Corrections follow the Corrections Policy.
What we will not do
We do not accept payment for inclusion, ordering or approval, and advertising plays no part in any review decision (see the Advertising Disclosure). We do not claim affiliation with any program or agency listed.
